Line-up 2018

The 38^th edition of the Jazz à Vienne Festival was marked by the creation of a strong partnership with the Angoulême International Comics Festival. This resulted in a change in graphic identity with a visual imagined by Brüno and the production of a creative illustrated concert with the singer Rokia Traoré and the cartoonist Rubén Pellejero. Jazz à Vienne pays tribute to jazz music, a melting pot of mixing, encounters, developments and challenges. Among the highlights of this edition was the exceptional appearance of Jeff Beck, live and direct for the first time ever in Vienne, and the “Happy Birthday” chanted out by the crowd of the Roman Theatre (Théâtre Antique) totally charmed by Rhoda Scott who celebrated her 80th spring on stage. Also worth mentioning is the magnificent New Generation scene showcasing this ever-so vibrant jazz which constantly invents itself, the grande première in Vienne of Angélique Kidjo and Ibrahim Maalouf’s Queen of Sheba, and legendary band Magma’s live set, their only date in 2018 !
