À propos de l’édition

1989 saw the return of Miles Davis, the first guest at the new Pyramide hotel-restaurant managed by Patrick Henriroux. But the major event of this year’s festival was the creation of All Night Jazz, which would close the festival from now on: seven ensembles performed this first year, including João Gilberto, the Blues Brothers, Bill Doggett and Michel Portal. One of the year’s highlights was the appearance on the same evening of Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock. Giant screens were set up at the Antique Theatre.
